Shivramji Moghe Mahavidyalaya founded in the year 1998 with a dream and a vision to provide higher education to the students in rural and tribal territory and to inculcate character building for their holistic development. The college commenced with a warm sensitization as the students seek success in arts, literature, industry, commerce, science and technology.

This is the age of information and technology. Keeping this in view, a fully equipped advanced computer laboratory has been set up in the commerce department. In addition to, a competitive cell functions to provide the students books and valuable guidance regarding various competitive exams.

The students are provided a platform to nurture their latent qualities. Hence, with the regular cultural programs, various co-curricular, innovative activities and many competitions are organized in the institute.

The principal, the teaching and non- teaching staff meticulously strive for the development of the institute. Our efforts are persistent for the success of the students. In this task we look forward for the better cooperation of the students, parents as well as citizens.

Principle’s Desk

          The college established in 1998 and it is known by its unshaken commitment in shaping the future of the students. The institute provides learning in arts, commerce, and science disciplines. For making a learning student centric, we believe in giving our students best values and they are equipped with academic excellence and the skills required to face the challenges of future. With the regular studies, the institute organizes various co-curricular activities to nurture the latent qualities of the students. Our distinction lies in the pursuit of high academic attainment through mentorship, encouragement praise and motivation.

            We always emphasize on moral demeanor of the students so that they become good citizens of the nation. We strongly believe the thirst for knowledge must be accompanied with a compassionate perspective towards human beings in society. Hence, the programmes organized by NSS and Student Welfare Cell enable the students to reach the society and render social service. Added to this, our Institute organizes camp and workshops on various current social issues for creating awareness and as well as run the skills programs like computer training and spoken English skills in college.  The institute motivates the students to participate in the various activities like Voter awareness rallies, help fund rallies, surveys, environmental awareness and any social as well as national deed.

            The college aims to pace with the time. Considering this view, the institute has opened a “Shivajirao Moghe Guidance Cell for Competitive Exams”. The departments in our college organize various inspirational activities for motivation of the students. The college magazine is published every academic year. It helps to spread light of knowledge and gives the students scope for expression.

            For the development of the institute, the valuable cooperation receives from the College Development Committee, teaching and non-teaching staff and the stakeholders.

INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR SEEKING ADMISSION

  1. Admission in college is provided as per rules and norms of the parent university.
  2. The admission committee reserves the right of admission of any students.
  3. The admission form should be submitted in their own hand writing within certain time. If any wrong information provided in the form, the legal actions shall be carried.
  4. The parent’s signature is necessary on the application for the admission.
  5. With submission of application for admission, the allotted admission fees must be paid.
  6. The students shall submit their E.B.C. forms, Scholarship applications within three days after admission ensured.
  7. Admission shall not be permitted on the basis of any duplicate T.C and other documents.

CERTIFICATES TO BE ATTACHED WITH ADMISSION FORM

  1. The two Xerox copies of Marklist (attested) (original copy for marklist)
  2. Original Transfer Certificate (T.C)
  3. The outer university students must submit a Original Migration Certificate at the time of admission.
  4. Two Passport size photos.
  5. Note- the above mentioned documents paid fees shall not be returned after the confirmation of admission. The students must pay the entire fees of the year even if the admission takes place in the midst of the session.

GOI SCHOLARSHIP AND OTHER CONCESSION

  1. Meritorious students can avail the concession like EBC, GOI, or other scholarships. The students are suggested to apply for the same. The concession holder students must present in college attendance book more than 75%. They shall have to submit entire fees of the year if they are found present less than 75% in college. 
  2. Scholarship receiving students shall have to pay complete laboratory fees or other fees if the institute is not received it from State Government.
  3. The Concession holder students are suggested to submit their complete filled up application along with necessary documents within due time.
  4. E.B.C concession holders should fill up the concession form very carefully. They must ensure any wrong information in the application to avoid any rejection. They are also suggested to mention their practical subjects in it. The E.B.C. concession holder students shall have to submit entire fees of the year if their concession form is rejected from government.
  5. The admitted students are suggested to avail the educational concessions which are provided by our parent university. Regarding, the students must meet the concerning teachers.

TRANSFER CERTIFICATE

 The students shall have to apply with parent’s signature for the transfer certificate. The T.C. will be issued after seven days from the date of application.

ELIGIBILITY FOR UNIVERSITY EXAM

  1. The students must appear in all the internal examinations.
  2. The attendance should not be less than 80%
  3. The students should be eligible as per the norms & guidelines of university.
  4. The schedule regarding to examination should be displayed on the noticeboard.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS

  1. The students should be provided sports facility in college.
  2. The selection of the students in college team will be on the basis of their regular attendance      in college exercise hours.
  3. Every student must remain present for the physical test.
  4. The decision of the director of physical education and concerned committee shall be final.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

 NSS unit in our college has effectively been working under the guidance of Mr. Vijayrao Moghe, Secretary of the Institution, and Dr. S.R. Warhate, Principal of college. The unit conducts regular and special camp activities under the direct guidance of Programme Officer. Total 150 students can participate in NSS per year. The students shall have to apply themselves for the membership of NSS. On the basis of their performance they will be given incentive marks as per the guidelines by Director, NSS Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.

CAREER GUIDANCE CELL  

The career guidance cell is active in the institution. The students are provided valuable guidance on various competitive exams and opportunities in higher studies.

SELECTION OF AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT OF THE YEAR

There is a system of selecting the best student from the final year students of all the disciplines. A particular committee is formed to select the best student. The committee functions under the guidance of the principal of the institute. The best student award is given on basis of the performance of the students.

LIBRARY

  1. Every student shall have to draw a library card to access the books in library.
  2. All the students must follow the library rules. The rules are displayed in the library.
  3. The reading room is available in college.
  4. The decision of library committee regarding library matters will be final.
  5. The outstanding reader will be offered a book from library.

BOOK BANK FACILITY

 The book bank facility is available in the central library of college. The text books are provided to the students for a year in all disciplines in college. This facility is given to only 100 needy students.

GENERAL NORMS

  1. The individual or collective penalty will be imposed against the damage of materials, electrical equipment, or any other loss of the institute.
  2. Each and every co- curricular program will be organized under the care of college teachers and with permission of the principal.
  3. The students must present in college in the uniform (Dress Code) along with Identity card. Absentee students shall have to pay penalty.
  4. No student shall consume tobacco in the college premises. Otherwise, actions should be taken as per rules.
  5. The students will not be allowed to participate in marches, strikes, political campaign, violent acts and raging during college hours. In doing so, they shall be removed from the college register.
  6. Without the prior permission of the principal, the outside person shall not be allowed to attend any program in college premises.
  7. The students are supposed to accept the above mentioned rules after the confirmation of their admission in college. Besides, they are bound with all the university rules, government rules and modifications which occur time to time. 
  8. The enrollment of the first year students shall be subject to University.
  9. Use cycle stand for parking. Do not park your vehicles other than Cycle stand. In doing so, penalty will be executed.
  10. Raging Act will be applicable to all the students.
  11. The decision of the principal will be final about mentioned or not mentioned information in the prospectus.

INDIRA GANDHI OPEN UNIVERSITY STUDY CENTRE
